Hi! My name is

Shah

I am a front-end developer from Reno NV

About Me

I'm a front-end developer in Reno, Nevada, building websites, web apps, and mobile apps. Since April 2023 I've been at BDG Web Design, working on production sites and applications for multi-location local businesses. Most of my time goes into custom WordPress builds, React and Redux front ends backed by Laravel REST APIs, and cross-platform iOS and Android features using Ionic React and Capacitor. I take projects end to end, from client requirements through launch, and anything that required maintenance or debugging after launch.

Before that I spent 2022 to 2023 at KPS3, a marketing agency here in Reno, building and maintaining commercial WordPress sites on custom themes, including work for a regional international airport. I built reusable ACF components so content teams could easily update their own pages, and spent a lot of time debugging production issues on live sites. That year moved my skills further than any course had.

In 2020 I completed the front-end developer Techdegree at Team Treehouse. Before that, I have finished front-end developer programs at Udacity, Udemy, and Code Academy.

Things I like

Besides creating websites, I love video games, anime, football, going to the beach, and spending time with my family. I'm also into photography and videography, creating content, editing, and always learning new ways to build new projects.

Client Work

Regional Airport Website

Built at KPS3 on a four-developer team for Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Custom WordPress theme, no page builder.

My work centered on reusable ACF components that let the airport's content team update their own pages, plus production debugging on a live site where downtime affects travelers checking flights and parking.

PHP, SCSS, ACF, and JavaScript. Designs were provided by the agency's design team.

Multi-Location Retail & E-Commerce

Custom WordPress theme I built from scratch for Hot Tub Super Store on a multisite network, so Reno, Henderson, and Scottsdale each run their own location site off one codebase and one set of templates.

ACF components let store staff build and update pages without a developer. WooCommerce handles the storefront, Gravity Forms handles lead capture across all three locations.

Built solo at BDG Web Design. PHP, SCSS, ACF, and WooCommerce. Designs were provided.

Commercial Real Estate Firm

Custom WordPress theme I built from scratch for Dickson Commercial Group, a commercial real estate firm in Reno.

I wrote custom Elementor widgets so their team can handle content updates themselves, adding and editing team member profiles, publishing blog posts, and updating page content without a developer in the loop.

Built solo at BDG Web Design. PHP, SCSS, ACF, and Elementor. Designs were provided.

Personal Projects

Commissioner's Desk

A keeper dashboard for the Sleeper fantasy league I run. A Python rule engine audits the draft board and catches players who would otherwise get stranded.

Vanilla HTML/CSS/JS, built with AI assistance. The demo runs on a synthetic league.
